Free access to Google Apps for Nonprofits for Canadians...How exciting!

A few weeks ago Google announced the launch of Google for Nonprofits in Canada. We’ve spent the last couple of years green with envy over the wonderful benefits our US friends are receiving from Google and now we’re thrilled that the program is available north of the border!

So what does this mean and why is it so exciting?

The program offers free access to Google’s suite of products and tools for Canadian Registered Charities and Canadian Federal and Provincial Nonprofits. This includes:

  • Free access to Google Apps – Cloud programs for office administration, including Gmail, Google Documents, Spreadsheets, Calendar, Presentations, Forms/Surveys, Calendar, Chat, Drive (a cloud file storage system) and Sites.
  • Google Ad Grants – Receive up to $10,000 of AdWords advertising per month to promote your website on Google.ca through keyword targeting
  • Premium access to YouTube – Increased uploading capacity, the ability to select custom thumbnail images, and call-to-action overlay on your videos.
  • Free licensing for Google Earth Pro – Create a custom map of your project sites with Google Maps, create a narrative Google Earth movie and make it available on YouTube, collect data in the field with Android devices and Open Data Kit and map your data

If you are looking to move your office administration to the cloud, start keyword advertising, become more sophisticated with maps and videos, and save money – now is the time.

Thank you Google and TechSoup Canada!
