Over the last several years, Tamarack has been experimenting with a remote working enviroment where our employees can be found across the country working in either shared spaces or their home offices. This has allowed the organization to get a better understanding of the vastness of our country but also appreciate the differences that our geography brings. You can now find Tamarack folks in BC, Alberta, and Ontario.
At our most recent team meeting, I was also struck by the diversity of perspectives that members of our team bring. We have a number of visual and musical artists in our group. We have folks who are expressive, connected to nature, and deeply engaged in their own community change efforts. We have individuals that call urban environments home and those who prefer smaller and rural communities. We collectively speak a number of different languages.
Some of our team are in the early stages of their careers and for others, retirement looms (maybe not all that soon).
What does this mean for an organization like Tamarack that is focused on learning, engagement and change? It means that internally, we need to embrace the changes that we have in the indviduals around the table. In many ways, our team represents our community of members. These new perspectives will bring new synergies. I am excited to watch us change and grow.
