How to Achieve Different Results

Albert Einstein once said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Currently, there are over 500 Food Banks in Canada and still, over 850,000 people are in need each month. There are over 1000 agencies serving homeless individuals and families, yet over 200,000 Canadians experience homelessness each year. Despite the countless number of agencies that work to end violence against women in our country, approximately every six days, a woman in Canada is killed by her intimate partner.

The social issues that we are dealing with in today's society are solvable, and yet they have not been solved. Traditional methods for solving social problems are not working and one of the biggest issues is that too many organizations are working in total isolation from one another. We have been doing the same things over and over again expecting different results. But different results can only come from different solutions. It is time for change.

So, what is the first step to doing things differently? The answer: Shared-Learning

In order to do things differently and effect real change we must, as leaders and practitioners in our communities, commit to learning, sharing knowledge and growing both personally and professionally. We challenge you to continue learning by joining us for Champions for Change: Leading a Backbone Organization for Collective Impact. This multi-day workshop will challenge you to change the way you think about social problems, and how you address them.
