About the Speaker
Michael Jones is a Juno Award Nominated pianist, composer and recording artist as well an award winning author and a widely recognized speaker, storyteller, leadership educator, writer and dialogue facilitator whose unique gifts have inspired many over the years. He is known for his innovative work in bringing together authentic leadership with creative artistry.
Michael has been widely praised for the imaginative way in which he weaves his music into his presentations and facilitation. He has been a featured speaker and performer Alongside such leading thinkers as; Colin Powell, Peter Kostenbaum, James MacGregor Burns, Peter Senge, Margaret J. Wheatley, and Peter Block in a variety of national forums including; Leading for Innovation at the Banff Centre Leadership Development, PepsiCo Global Nutrition Group, The Academy of Management, The International Leadership Association. The Greater Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce, among many others.
An evocative communicator and storyteller, Michael is the author of three books; the award winning Creating an Imaginative Life (1995,2006) Artful Leadership, Awakening the Commons of the Imagination (2006) and The Soul of Place, Transforming Leadership Through Nature, Art and Community (Trafford Spring 2012) He has also contributed numerous essays on leadership and engagement including most recently in Leadership For Transformation (Jossey Bass) The Transforming Leader (Berrett - Koehler) and The Journal of Leadership Studies (Wiley Publications)
Michael holds a BA in Music and Psychology from Mount Allison University in Sackville, N.B and an MA in Adult Learning from the University of Toronto. He lives with his partner Judy, an educator, healer and fine artist, in a lakeside community north of Toronto.
