The concept of "Collective Impact" first coined by Kania and Kramer in 2011 has captured the imagination of would-be change makers who are eager to be more than the sum of their parts. There are examples of Collective Impact efforts across North America focusing on everything from nutrition, early childhood development, homelessness, poverty, and gang violence.

The dramatic expansion in the number and variety of collective impact initiatives has led to more and more people asking, "How do we evaluate collective impact efforts?" Thankfully, there are decades of work in assessing many other approaches to community change - and some promising emerging practices specifically focused on Collective Impact - upon which to build.

In this webinar, Mark Cabaj, Tamarack Thought Leader and Principal of Here to There, explores six simple rules for evaluating collective impact, the implications for practitioners, funders and evaluators, as well as examples of collective impact evaluation in action.

About the Speaker

Mark Cabaj - Mark Cabaj is an Associate of Tamarack and Vibrant Communities and President of the company From Here to There. Mark's current focus is on developing practical ways to assist groups to understand, plan and evaluate policies, programs and initiatives that address complex issues. This includes challenges such as neighbourhood renewal, poverty and homelessness, community safety, educational achievement and health. He is particularly focused on expanding the ideas and practice of developmental evaluation, a new approach to evaluation which emphasizes learning and design thinking in emerging and sometimes fast-moving environments.
